Fortress Beacon Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund
Fortress Beacon is a global multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund seeking to generate differentiated alpha streams through trading primarily across global liquid markets. The Fortress Beacon portfolio consists of both alpha oriented strategies, such as fundamental long/short equity, global macro, and quantitative strategies with opportunistic approaches in credit, event, fixed income, and merger arbitrage.
About the position/team
We are seeking an exceptional Research Analyst to join our Merger Arbitrage team. Fortress Beacon Merger Arbitrage investment team has over 20 years of experience investing in arbitrage opportunities across global mergers & acquisitions. The Research Analyst will be based in our Dallas office and work alongside the Merger Arbitrage portfolio manager sourcing, researching and analyzing mergers & acquisitions globally.
Main Responsibilities:
- Research investment ideas as directed by portfolio manager, including building financial models, reading legal and regulatory filings, listening to conference calls, meeting management teams and legal and regulatory experts at conferences.
- Build relationships with a research network, including company executives, buy and sell-side professionals, and legal and regulatory contacts.
- Effectively communicate opinions, new information and market developments to the investment team and broader firm.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in investment banking, or in sell-side or buy-side research at leading firms.
- A strong knowledge of M&A, and fundamental valuation analysis with advanced excel financial modeling skills.
- A long-held passion for investing and the desire to develop a deep fundamental understanding of deals, M&A, and divestitures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Success developing and sustaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Dallas, Texas. With the ability to be based out of NYC in time.
